Development
How To Say Goodbye Every Day has been in development since late December 2023, originally devised through exploratory group work that took place in many studios and ramshackle spaces throughout the Bay Area and the Capital Corridor in 2024. These include Shawl Anderson Dance Studio, Berkeley Ballet Theatre, Shotgun Studios, Soundwave Studios, The Pacific Felt Factory, Sac Dance Lab, Mari Farnsworth’s house, parks, UC Berkeley campus buildings, and more.
The initial demos for the music in How To Say Goodbye Every Day were recorded at Hyde Street Studios in November of 2024. Thank you to our recording engineer Eli, and to Syd Peterson for setting us up.
Iterations
On January 9th, 2024, the first public reading of How To Say Goodbye Every Day was staged at The Vestry in Berkeley, California. We are so grateful to the residents of The Vestry and to our extended community who came out to support our work and give feedback.
